Base jumper and free-rider Robin Kaleta will come to talk about how to jump off the mountain’s summits and consequently falling into the void, and how to ski down clean “untouched” mountains.

Do not miss the photo exhibition of a man with a smell for great pictures - Martin Heuger.

At this year’s festival a mountain climber, a traveler, an amateur philosopher, and last but not least photographer will present his photographs took during his climbing journeys and expeditions. It is worth to see this presentation.

Let yourselves be swept by the avalanche of information about avalanches!

If you belong to a group of people who love wandering through snowy mountains, do not hesitate and come to a presentation given by an avalanche expert! Ing. Ján Peťo, the head of the Department for Avalanche Prevention in Jasna, Slovakia, will advise us how to not encounter an avalanche and what to do when it surprises us.

Let yourselves to be pulled into the lost world.

You will be brought into the underground world of caves inaccessible for an ordinary man by narration of speleologist, explorer and traveler amazed by Table Mountains / Marek Audy. His narration will be accompanied by photographs of the world’s most beautiful caves.

HoryZonty welcomes mountaineering legend again.

We are glad the next great mountain climber confirmed guest appearance at our festival! This time it is a holder of seven eight-thousand trophies and the only Slovak owning the “Crown of the Earth“– Peter HAMOR.

You can start to prepare your appetites and to be looking forward to the main dish of our festival offer, which is the three-day long “fall“ marathon of films and abundant accompanying events, taking place during 12. – 14.11.2009.

Do you have a film?

You are in the right place! Festival HoryZonty offers you a perfect opportunity to present your moving picture works based on the mountain theme or outdoor sports. Just amateur screenshots take relatively major and well-deserved part of our festival‘s film projections; after all that, a lot of perfect movies that were presented at our previous festivals prove the talents of amateur and unknown filmmakers.

Also you can bring to the cinema a touch of adrenaline, entertain us, show us a fair portion of the world that you have seen; and for the most part, do not keep your experiences and adventures only for you and your friends! Register your works to the amateur movie competition! Your screenshots will be competing in one of the four categories and will be evaluated and judged by professionals; however, the audience will also have a chance to express their sympathies towards one of your films. Not only flourish but also valuable rewards are waiting for the winners. Specific rules and conditions are described below. Application dead line is 20. 9. 2009.
